Growing Spiritually in the Lord
All students in our program attend chapel where children are encouraged to spend time in worship and singing songs of praise. Preschool children attend chapel once a month and our Elementary and Junior High students attend chapel each week. Students will also receive a Bible lesson during this time from school administration, guest speakers, or from another class in the school as each class will have the opportunity to teach a Bible lesson at least one time during the school year.
Please have your child come dressed for fun at preschool. We recommend that your child wear casual play clothes. Their clothing should be comfortable and easy to manage when using the toilet. Remember that your child may be using sand, water, paint, play dough, glue, and other exciting learning materials which might end up on his or her clothing. We recommend that you do not send your child in expensive, “Sunday Best” type of clothing. We also ask that your child wear closed-toe shoes and if your daughter is wearing a dress, please have her wear shorts underneath for modesty. During the cooler months, please send your child with a jacket that has been marked with his or her name.
Elementary and Junior High:
The Adventure Christian School Dress Code is used to encourage modest, neat, clean and appropriate dress to promote a positive learning environment. In order to avoid the implication that certain types of dress are good or bad, Adventure will continue to support a “casual uniform” dress code. Our desire is to teach our students to “Dress for Success.” Scripture teaches in John 15:19, “If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.”
Our program is pleased to share the opportunity for your child to participate in various enrichment activities at the school either during their school day (preschool program) or immediately following the end of the school day (elementary and junior high programs). For an additional fee, your child will be able to participate in some of the following enrichment courses enhance their school day:
Preschool Program = Soccer Shots and Gymnastics
Elementary and Junior High Program = Chess, Intellibricks, Soccer Shots (TK – 3rd grade), Spotlight Music – Guitar, Ukulele, and Voice Lessons, and Tennis (TK – 3rd grade)
Learning Continues Outside the Classroom
The Lord has blessed us with some amazing places locally where we can strengthen our knowledge in the world around us, as well as grow in our relationship with Him. All of the classes at ACS have the opportunity to participate in field trips during the course of the school year with most grades attending three field trips each year. Information for scheduled field trips are distributed by classroom teachers throughout the school year as arrangements and schedules are coordinated. For more information on which field trips your child may be experiencing, please contact the school office our ask our Admissions Coordinator during your school tour.
